Root Cause AnalysisOn numerous occasions, a particular failed area is actually the symptom of a less obvious issue. In these cases, the root cause must be identified and repaired to ensure that any repair made to the targeted area does not fail prematurely.

Water penetrating below the surface of the pavement is the number one contributor to asphalt failure within the southeastern region of the United States. This can be the result of a leaking irrigation valve, cracked asphalt uphill from the failure area, improper drainage, a high water table, etc. These causes may not always be noticeable at first glance so additional time is often required to search for them.
