Annual Pavement Surveys

Your parking lot speaks to you every day. From the very first day after its construction, the asphalt begins to interact with the elements. The process of oxidation results in grey and brittle asphalt which leads to cracking and ultimately failure (Refer to the Pavement Life Cycle section in the Learning Center).

This process cannot be stopped, but it can be slowed down by listening to what your pavement is saying to you and performing timely maintenance activities before they become costly repairs.

Take time to walk your pavement and note any areas where there may be standing water, improper drainage, cracking, or beginning areas of failure. Identifying these types of issues and investing in their elimination early-on can add many years to the life of the pavement while saving potentially thousands of dollars in costly repairs.
