Cracking

As the asphalt oxidizes and becomes more brittle, the asphalt loses its ability to bend and flex with the load of traffic. Cracks begin to develop. Typically these cracks first appear along the asphalt seam lines, or around areas that bear higher degrees of loading. This type of cracking typically results in longer straighter cracks that can be easily sealed with a crack sealer.
